My story as Lily Read Jewellery

My Ethos

As both a jewellery designer and maker, I handcraft each piece using traditional goldsmithing techniques. My aim is to create items with longevity, each finished to a high quality.

I believe in the principles of luxury through craftsmanship, contemporary through form, and fashionability through simplicity and adaptability. Inspired by the geometry and interlocking shapes found in art and architecture, my jewellery is a blend of creativity and precision.

Every piece I create is made with care and a focus of quality to last.

How It All Began

My journey into jewellery began in the UK with a BA in Three-Dimensional Design from Manchester School of Art, where I developed a love for metalwork. Fascinated by interlocking mechanisms and the precision they require, I pursued further training through the renowned Jewellery and Goldsmithing Skills and Design Course in Kilkenny, Republic of Ireland. While in training I explored a range of bespoke work, from silver jewellery boxes to functional silver eyewear and diamond-set rings.

Relocating to Denmark in 2024, I am now in my studio based in Aarhus. Lily Read Jewellery now serves as a space for sharing past collections, ongoing creative projects, and independently developed pieces.
